Abaddon

An alternative Discord client made in C++ with GTK

Abaddon is an alternative Discord client which supports most chat message types. To Log In, you either have to use the mobile app or extract the login token from the discord web client. Please note that alternative discord clients have a higher risk of tripping discord's spam filter. If you should get caught in the spam filter, you can usually appeal at discord. NOTE: currently this port does not support sound!

aMule

All-platform P2P client based on eMule

aMule is a multi-platform client for the ED2K file sharing network and based on the windows client eMule. aMule started in August 2003, as a fork of xMule, which is a fork of lMule. aMule currently supports Linux, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, Windows, MacOS X and X-Box on both 32 and 64 bit computers. aMule is intended to be as user friendly and feature rich as eMule and to remain faithful to the look and feel of eMule so users familiar with either aMule or eMule will be able switch between the two easily. Since aMule is based upon the eMule codebase, new features in eMule tend to find their way into aMule soon after their inclusion into eMule so users of aMule can expect to ride the cutting-edge of ED2k clients.

Balsa is an e-mail client for GNOME, highly configurable and incorporating all the features you would expect in a robust mail client. Features:

Beam (BEware, Another Mailer) is an open source e-mail client that aims to be fast, stable and feature-complete. Main features:

  • Multiple mail accounts (POP & SMTP), with support for default-accounts and automatic selection of appropriate account when replying, etc.
  • Fully MIME compliant (Beam passes the MIME-Torture-Test)
  • Performance adequate for large mail folders (>10,000 messages)

BeShare

A native file sharing and chat application

Alternative download

BeShare is a BeOS/Haiku-native file sharing program. It operates similarly to other such programs (IRC, Napster, Hotline, etc) but with a few advantages:

  • BeShare allows you to upload or download any type of file, not just mp3.
  • When browsing files, you can see their attributes (similar to Tracker's view).
  • Your query is always "live", so if new files that match your query become available, you will see them added to the results list right away (you won't have to click "refresh" or anything first).
  • BeShare includes a rudimentary chat mechanism for you social types.
  • BeShare supports any number of simultaneous uploads and downloads in parallel, but will serialize simultaneous file requests to any given host for efficiency.
  • BeShare connects to any MUSCLE server (see https://public.msli.com/lcs/muscle/ for details).
  • BeShare source code is available, and serves as an example of how to write a MUSCLE client.

Burp

A tool to make and restore backups over a network

Burp aims to be a better Bacula and is a network backup and restore software. It relies on librsync for compression of network communication and of the backups itself. Burp provides both a client and a server and supports Windows's Volume Shadow Copy Services.
