Haiku Beta 4 - The Definitive Review (22 December 2022)

"Haiku Release 1 Beta 4 has been officially released. And it’s good. Real good. Even though Beta 4 just officially dropped today — I have been using the Release Candidate builds of Haiku Beta 4, extensively, for several weeks. And, while there are some weak points, I feel like I can authoritatively state that this is one of the most impressive releases of any Operating System in several years."

Haiku OS: The Open Source BeOS You Can Daily Drive In 2024 (15 January 2024)

"Haiku is one of those open source operating systems that seem to be both exceedingly well-known while flying completely under the radar. Part of this is probably due to it being an open source version and continuation of the Be Operating System (BeOS). Despite its strong feature set in the 1990s, BeOS never got much love in the wider computer market. Nevertheless, it has a strong community that after twenty-two years of development has now reached a point where you can daily drive it, according to the Action Retro channel on YouTube."

Haiku R1/beta5: A Step Forward in Stability and Performance (14 September 2024)

"Great news for alternative operating system enthusiasts: Haiku, the spiritual successor to BeOS, has just released its fifth beta version on September 13th. This release, the result of over a year and a half of hard work, brings a series of significant improvements that bring Haiku closer to its long-awaited 1.0 version."

Haiku OS: A Comprehensive Look at the Modern BeOS Successor (22 September 2024)

"Despite its challenges, the future of Haiku OS looks bright. With regular updates and an enthusiastic community of developers, Haiku is steadily improving and expanding its feature set. As more developers and users discover the potential of Haiku, it’s likely that the software ecosystem will grow, and hardware support will improve."

Haiku Beta 5 -- It's (Fire)foxier (9 January 2025)

"Haiku is something else – both in the colloquial sense, meaning that it's remarkable, extraordinary, outstanding – and in the literal sense that it's unrelated to Windows, Linux, or anything else. It's sleek, slick, and fast to a degree no Linux distro can even rival. It looks great, in a minimal late-1990s sort of way, unlike most other OSes today which either looked washed-out and flat, or functional but clunky and a bit ugly."
